LastRound AI Review 2026: What $19 a Month Actually Gets You

Most reviews of AI interview copilots are written by people with an affiliate link. This one is written by the team that builds the product, which is a different kind of bias but at least a legible one. So rather than tell you it is wonderful, here is what it costs, what you get at each tier, and the specific situations where you should buy something else.

What LastRound AI is

It is a job-search suite built around a live interview copilot. The copilot listens to the interviewer, transcribes in real time, and puts suggested answers on your screen with a sub-200ms response time. Around that sit AI mock interviews, an ATS-scoring resume builder, auto-apply, job search, and company insights compiled from Glassdoor, Levels.fyi and Blind.

The bit competitors most often lack is the mobile copilot for phone screens. Recruiter calls happen on phones, and almost nothing else in this category covers that.

Pricing: not free, and worth being precise about

An earlier version of this post described LastRound AI as free. That was wrong, and we have corrected it. There is a free tier, but it is a starting allowance rather than the whole product.

How credits work: paid tiers give you a monthly credit allowance rather than unlimited sessions. This matters because job searches are bursty — two quiet weeks, then a week with four screens and two onsites. Size your plan against your busiest single week, not your monthly average. If you are interviewing heavily, Starter's 120 credits will go faster than you expect.

Where the $19 tier is genuinely strong

The useful comparison is what else $19-ish buys in this category. Cluely's Pro tier is $19.99/month and its own pricing page states that undetectability is not included — the tier that includes it is $149.99/month. Sensei AI is $89/month billed monthly, dropping to $24/month if you commit annually. Interview Coder is reported at $299/month or $799 lifetime.

Against that, $19 covering the live copilot, mobile copilot, mock interviews, resume builder and auto-apply is a lot of surface area for the money. That is the honest case for it, and it does not require exaggerating anyone else's price.

Platform support

Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, WebEx, Skype and Amazon Chime on the video side; CodeSignal and HackerRank on the coding side. The coding platform coverage is the differentiator — plenty of copilots handle video calls fine and fall apart the moment you are in a shared editor.

What is actually weak

Brand and review volume. Final Round AI has years of third-party reviews. We do not. If your buying process involves reading fifty independent opinions first, that is a genuine argument for a more established tool, and the free tier is our only real answer to it.

The credit model. Flat-unlimited would be simpler and some competitors offer it. If you are a very heavy user, do the arithmetic before assuming Starter covers you.

Stealth documentation. The overlay is designed to sit outside the screen-capture surface, but our pricing page does not currently spell out which tiers include what. Until it does, verify it yourself: start a call with a second account, share your screen, and look at what the other side sees. Do that before an interview that matters — and do it with any vendor, not just this one.

Who should use it

• Good fit: candidates running an active search who want prep, applications and live support in one place rather than stitching three subscriptions together.
• Good fit: anyone doing phone screens, where the mobile copilot has few competitors.
• Poor fit: you only want a bare live copilot and nothing else — simpler, narrower tools exist.
• Poor fit: your loop is exclusively algorithm rounds, where a coding specialist will outperform any generalist.

The part worth being honest about

Two things are true at once. These tools genuinely help people who know their material but freeze under pressure, who are interviewing in a second language, or who have a disability that makes real-time verbal processing harder. That is a real accessibility case and it deserves better than the reflexive sneering it usually gets.

At the same time: some employers explicitly prohibit AI assistance during interviews, and some platforms look for it. Read the terms you agreed to when you accepted the interview. The risk sits with you, not with the vendor selling the tool — and that includes us.

Nobody disputes the practice side, though. Mock interviews, resume scoring, company research and structured preparation break no rules anywhere, and that is where most of the actual improvement comes from. A copilot cannot rescue an answer you have never thought about. It can only help you deliver one you already have.

Try it rather than trust this

We wrote this, so the only sensible thing to do with it is verify it. The free tier needs no card, and running two or three mock interviews will tell you more in an afternoon than any review will — including whether you even like having text on screen mid-conversation. A fair number of people discover they do not.
